24/Male/Irish/Unqualified/studied science briefly at university/heard bout nanotech 2 years ago/just getting to grips with nbic technological concepts/still trying to convince myself I'm not a geek!/ The only thing I know bout all this stuff for sure yet, IS -
that you can't learn it all but you gotta stay convergent and have an open mind like you wouldn't believe and then when you've decided you have to get involved then find a niche and go for it
- For me I believe the more people we got on this train from more and more kinds of backgrounds, ages, countries, races and abilities then the better chance we got of commin outa this transitional phase in one piece! - I’ve always believed that just coz you understand quantum mechanics(not that I believe anyone truly does)or whatever, doesn't necessarily mean you got a greater power to impact the outcome of these global trends or breaking technologies... - See - I believe that just as life happened through the chance meeting of molecules and the right conditions in the right place in the ocean of universal chaos that similarly every outcome since then and before then is ultimately chaotic on the grandest scale that is 'universal' but can be considered ordered only on a temporal and thus comparative basis eg. we think a diamonds internal molecular arrangement is perfect or that time flies or that mach 6 is fast or whatever simply on a comparative basis and similarly we think people are smart or dum on the basis of their ability to communicate the right answers we pose thus an 'average' road sweeper doesn't require involvement in this transitional phase of nanotech etc.. - But the fact of the matter is that ; this tech explosion is happening because some people started to step outside the box and simply apply themselves as humans to problems rather than as pure chemists or engineers etc... and now we're starting to retract our revelation of the causes of this new and most important renaissance phase by not getting everyone and I mean everyone on board pro-actively and I don't just mean so that we can feel better bout ourselves as we develop new genomic drugs in a more 'democratic way'.... - You see the real use of all our 'better'( by this I mean scientists) brains would be to realize that we have shut 'them' (road sweeper)out and have thus ignored the main driving advancing power that brings about the most 'right' results from what we create and that is 'EVOLUTION' ...Remember variety is the spice of life....chaos is the true genius behind it and exists on all temporal scales to all matter in the same way....... - i.e. We need everyone in the loop .....You can't control the technological development....not on a real 'end' product scale.....its simply too chaotic....if we were 10 people then maybe yes...but we're not....we are 6.3 billion different brains.....converge that and then you'll get a fair result..... - Otherwise ...governments will scramble to reach the breakthroughs, the 'end of the world people' will go nuts, the 'norms' won't have a clue coz the thing will have moved too far by the time they begin to care that there will be simply too much ground to cover with them and thus the penetration rate will be miniscule and ineffective, the firms will lock up the tech, the geeks will control it and the evil or dilluded will in all this mess find an opening and strike at some nation, race, group unmercifully with a tech-weopon that we can't stop and I'll simply smile at the stars in recognition of yet another victory for 'unluckyness' ( an unbeneficial outcome particular to an interest group or individual)
....SEE...Here's how it happened....the first time something right happened to someone....the unreal concept of 'perfection' was born.....unreal because it was a comparative observation in someone’s mind....if that is so then the obvious paradoxical side to this new concept was lost on the individual....i.e. if 'perfect' is descriptive then anything in existence can be described by it or its opposite or in a kind of way ie kind of, sort of, a bit, a half or not really.....you get my drift well then describe the universe with it.....you simply can't as there is nothing else to compare it with apart from itself and that cannot make sense at any one point in time no matter how relative..... The only way things happen in the universe is through everything or somethings effecting eachother...ie. universal conceptual Brownian motion on all levels in all ways all the time, uncontrollable ultimately....we're so hung up on solving problems.....i.e. the common and annoying concept that 'complex problems need complex solutions' and we're so hung up on the want for power (which is control) both individually and as groups and ultimately as a race that we don't even give chaos its due respect let alone spot the genius in its random and 'un'-random workings that could so powerfully help us.....especially now at, or near our greatest time of need for a 'net' positive outcome of our actions.
We have only been capable of having a net relative effect on our entire biosphere for bout 200 years and we are now sure of our effects on the world or at least some of them...those effects were not meant...they just happened....we found out after...now if our inventive product has advanced exponentially since then as most agree....then although we are somewhat (and I have to stress that!) aware of our potential impact on things as we develop and market new tech now ----how can anyone assume we won't oversee something along this next ultimately flawed route towards perfection.... don't you just wish you could really comprehensively communicate with everyone in the human race simultaneously sometimes?...that's funny… - I just realized an ironic parallel to something quite topical... Take a swarm of diss-assemblers...unleash them on the world at any point......... Capable of dismantling the globe atom by atom, you try and stop them.....now let's assume you have a way and you us it....but in doing so you leave out one single diss-assember, do you fail?...yes, because you didn't respect chaos..By being so sure that you would absolutely destroy 100% of them you acted, subsequently didn't succeed and failed...when Henry Ford marketed the model T he did not know that automobile pollution could melt the ice caps, nor could he....given the information available we make decisions...we accept chaos sometimes will simply produce a freaky (another comparative) outcome and we forgive ourselves for the mistake by blaming chaos.....think about it...was it a mistake?....if cars didn't exist but the world was as it is anyway(just imagine it for my benefit) then Henry Ford would have the available info to make his globally impacting decision with use of his humanitarian and ecological facilities...i.e. it's bad...don't do it...or whatever....what I am saying is so simple.... .we accept what we do as a race right now as if we're on an unstoppable rollercoaster ill equiped for a chaotic track. We accept we are on this big-dipper and that we have to build in modification to our rollercoaster car quicker or as quick as the track unfolds in front of us which by the way is at an ever accelerating rate......some complain about it with placards....some simply ignore it.....others are ignorant to the ride...still others wish for the crash to come sooner than later......and some like me...and you lot are just starting to comprehend the situation enough to know that if you're not in then you can't win......if we're not in then we most likely won't and if we don't get the rest of them in on it we're gambling with their ignorant lives and we should be ashamed of that beyond any sin we have committed eyes open before.....this is the last wave of technological progress......at least... inside our own current bodies and minds.....this is not a friendly game...a pre-season warm-up or some bastards sick joke..... we need leadership....a new breed of people motivator and every other tool for getting the best life performances out of us that we can muster from the most people we can involve ..... I am personally sick of the apparent ironies in what we do....stop wondering is it better to stop what we're doing.....it may be-in a way- but that is, was and will, never ever ever happen.....we WILL and ARE moving forward with these tech developments and every possible outcome will be in this bubbling pot with us.....we gotta keep modifying the rollercoaster car maybe applying some new braking techniques along the way at various points and yet at others we need to strive forward with speed and 'chaos respecting' relative control but most of all we have got to talk to as many people as will listen and better yet- talk back....work together...stop trying to obtain perfection blindly...but instead carry a new mindset that respects the enemy- someone said 'respect your enemy, enjoy his victories'....our enemy has always been close, closer than we'd like to admit and twofold in its entirety - our disrespect of chaos AND ourselves. Peace does not mean no war. Peace is when chaos is respected and when we make decisions with that respect - it is the order and disorder of all things and its raging storms and gentle equilibriums can yield the ultimate benefit to us...one has to believe in both good and bad, black and white....but one must have faith in what we do...we try for good....therefore we have faith....all of us - in good, otherwise we wouldn't try.
