i'm doing a project on nanotechnology and i'm wondering how far alond we REALLY are. i've read about too many different dates of when the first prototype will be made, but i just want to know a certain date that would be the closest to when it'll be done.

There's no way to know for sure when molecular manufacturing will be developed. It depends on too many things, mainly political in nature. Basically, we'll have it 5-10 years after we decide we want it.
