This is a site for analysis of nanotechnology problems and solutions. WiseNano:About explains why these are so important.

The left-hand column of the main page is your entry point to information about nanotechnology, its problems, and their solutions.

The right-hand column is your entry point to start new projects or help on existing projects or articles.

How people contribute:

  • Someone has a question, and proposes a project to investigate.
  • People gather to work on the project.
  • The project leads to articles.
    • Articles can also be added separately from any project.
  • Articles are written and edited cooperatively.
    • Any user can work to improve any article.
  • Usable summaries are created: white papers, K-16 curriculums, etc.
  • Questions arise at any stage, inspiring new projects.

Another way to look at it: Blog -> Seed -> Grow.

  • Start your project by opening a discussion page.
  • As the discussion progresses, the collaborative plan will take shape.
  • This project, and the articles it inspires, will contribute to the "reference" aspect of the site.

What the site produces:

  • Analysis of what the technology will make possible
  • Identification and analysis of the potential risks and benefits
  • Policy analysis
  • Plans for action
  • Usable summaries
  • The site itself: A reference to the issues of wise nanotechnology
